HGreg partners with the Quebec Road Safety Education Foundation (Fédération québécoise en sécurité routière/FQESR) to promote awareness of the dangers of impaired or distracted driving amongst new drivers aged 16 to 24. HGreg will award $15,000 as part of a contest marking the launch of this campaign.
“HGreg is proud to partner with the Quebec Road Safety Education Foundation for a cause as significant as road safety for young drivers,” said Harry Kasparian, Vice-President of Marketing at HGreg. “As a corporate citizen committed to the community, this initiative is directly in line with our desire to contribute to making our roads safer while staying focused on the customer experience.”
“We believe that by using powerful, yet humorous messages that put into context situations that young drivers and new motorcyclists are likely to encounter on the roads, we can raise awareness and contribute to reducing the number of accidents,” explains Yves Georges, Executive Director of the FQESR.
Over the course of the next four years, video segments produced by the FQESR and approved by Transport Canada will be posted on social media and presented to young people aged 16 to 24 as part of their driving courses. Six of the videos will focus on car safety while another six will address motorcycle safety.
Young drivers will be able to participate in the Championnat des tatas contest by taking one of the two surveys (car and motorcycle versions) posted online by the FQESR. The survey will have participants go through a path answering questions after watching each video.
The contest began on August 3 ends on December 31, 2022. The winner will be randomly selected on January 16, 2023, by a draw among survey respondents.
The $15,000 prize will be applied to the purchase, lease or finance, within 12 months of the awarding of the prize, of a new or used vehicle at any one of HGreg’s ten participating car dealerships of the winner’s choice.
